I am honored to work for a dynamic organization that shares my hopes and my vision for public education.  I first began working for High Tech High in 2005 with the Charter Management Organization.  I provided back-office supports such as grant writing, grant reporting, and admissions and outreach services.  I then moved in to the classroom as a 6th grade Humanities teacher at High Tech Middle Media Arts, where I was energized by the challenge of developing Project-Based curriculum for a diverse and fully included population of learners.  These experiences drove me to pursue my Education Specialist teaching credential through the HTH Teacher Credentialing Program, and to move in to the role of Inclusion Specialist and Academic Dean at High Tech Middle Media Arts.  This year, I am embarking on a new journey as the  Director of Special Education, providing supports to all of the High Tech High Schools.

I am originally from northern California, and I love going home to the Sierra Foothills to visit my parents.  I have a younger brother named Peter who lives in Portland, Oregon, and I love visiting Portland to see him, too.

In August of 2011 I married an incredible man named Jason.  We live in Mission Hills with our cat, Wilson.  We love to cook, hike, garden, travel, and explore new restaurants together in San Diego.  I recently started practicing piano again (my last practice took place when I as in sixth grade!)  In addition to dabbling in piano, I love to read, and to spend time with my wonderful group of friends in San Diego.
